How do I book?

If you wish to book accommodation at The Pavilions student accommodation, please go to the apply/book tab and follow the application procedures.

If you are a first year student, you will also need to complete your 'home from home' form which will be sent to you from the University of Lincoln.

Do I need to pay a deposit or booking fee?

Yes, in order to secure a room at The Pavilions, you will need to pay a £200 reservation fee when you return your Tenancy Agreement. This becomes a £50 non refundable booking fee and £150 deposit once you have moved in. This is completely seperate from your annual rent. Your deposit is protected by 'My Deposits' for the duration of your tenancy. To see how your deposit is protected please click here.

What does the weekly rent cover?

Everything! The weekly price covers the cost of renting of your room and using the shared facilities of the property. It also includes the 12Mb internet package (available from September 2012) and all your bills (subject to cap) so no surprises!

Do I get free broadband when I live at The Pavilions?

Yes, you do! One of the great things about living at The Pavilions is our super fast broadband connection, supplied by ASK4. The Pavilions has the fastest free internet in Lincoln student accommodation. Not only do you get a whopping 12Mb internet connection (speed, not download limit, available September 2012) but you also get free IPTV (you will need a TV licence). So just to reiterate, you get a FREE 12Mb fibre optic broadband connection and free IPTV.

Do I need to buy a TV licence?

Normal TV Licensing Authority regulations apply to any TV you bring yourself. All TV's provided by the landlord include a licence. For more information on TV licensing visit: www.tvlicensing.co.uk. Please note that the landlord is not held responsible for ensuring you have a TV licence. All TV's that you bring with you, including any live streaming devices will need to be covered by a TV licence.

Do I need to pay council tax?

If you are a full time student then you will not need to pay council tax.

Can I move in early?

Yes you can, by prior arrangement with the Accommodation Office who can advise you of the costs and paperwork required.

Can I live with my friends?

Yes we would be happy to make you a group booking. There is a facility on your application form to add the names of persons you wish to live in the same flat and/or room with. Your friends also need to have the same names on their application.

Can I change rooms?

If there is an issue with your room that we cannot resolve we will endeavour to facilitate a room move where we have vacancies. A £50 administration charge is applicable.

Can I have car parking?

Car parking is extremely limited. Blue badge holders have priority and you need to contact the office with a copy of your badge to apply for a permit. If spaces are left, nursing and social care students will receive them on a first come first serve basis. The cost for parking for the year is £500 from September 2012 and all applications need to be submitted to the office via email or in writing.

How do I report a problem?

We have on site maintenance on hand in every property. To report an issue you will need to contact Reception/Site Security by reporting the problem to the reception desk during office hours. If you need to report a problem outside of office hours, you can contact the site staff on 01522 525 757.

Can I change my mind?

Before signing the Tenancy Agreement you can cancel your booking. Once you have completed and returned your Tenancy Agreement you will be liable for the full term of the contract. Please refer to our Cancellation Policy.

Am I allowed visitors?

Of course! This is your home so you are more than welcome to invite friends. Providing your room mates don't mind, neither do we. You can have a guest to stay two nights a week in accordance with your tenancy agreement.

If I need help, where do I go?

The office is open Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 7pm, Saturday 12pm - 6pm and Sunday 12pm - 4pm. The office staff are there to help and guide you so are always happy to discuss any concerns you may have. We also have maintenance and security available outside these hours.

I'm in a wheelchair, is there easy access for me?

Yes, absolutely. There are plenty of disabled apartments and access available for you. There is also free parking available for disabled badge holders.

How secure is the site?

There is CCTV covering all the entrances. exits and common areas throughout the site. There are always staff available 24/7 which means should you require any assistance at any time of day there will always be someone you can contact.

How can I make a complaint?

If you would like to contact a member of team regarding a problem you have encountered, please use our contact form or send an email to customer.services@southstreetam.co.uk. Your query will be dealt with as soon as possible, and you can expect a response within 10 working days. Some queries may take longer to investigate but we will be in touch to advise you of this.

It is important to clarify the difference between a maintenance fault and a complaint. If you are experiencing a problem with something in your room or communal area, please contact your Accommodation Office/site reception. Please use the complaints form for any problems you have experienced with a member of staff or the service provided.

Before a complaint is made, have you made the office staff aware of your complaint/issue? If not you may find it useful to discuss your concerns with the team on site.

How can I take part in the STARS scheme?

A STAR is a representative of students living within halls of residence. They liaise with the Student's Union to ensure that the students living within your halls of residence have their views and concerns listened to and improves communication between accommodation and the Student's Union. Is contents insurance included in my rent?

Yes, we provide contents insurance with your room and you can find the insurance policy document here. We provide contents insurance up to £4000 but you can upgrade your insurance package if you have items that need specialist polices or are worth more than £4000. You will also need to register your address with Endsleigh once you have checked-in. When you register you can also upgrade your policy if you would like to. It's important to confirm your address so that Endsleigh can send your insurance certificate to you. You can register your address online here.
